On the Road

Summer is here and Phoebe's wearing clothes marked 18-24 months! She's enjoying sitting up a lot more on her own and eating carrots, apple sauce, and sweet potatoes.

We left MN yesterday and are somewhere in eastern Indiana this morning. Today, we drive to Arlington and tomorrow we move into our new apartment. Phoebe was a great traveller and is drooling on my shorts after a good night's sleep.

I'll keep you all posted this year as we explore our nation's capital.
Love, Andy (Alisa and Phoebe too!).

Playing in her booster before dinner

This is a video . . . if you didn't notice. Sorry no sound, but it's taken with our digital camera. We don't have a video camera.

Phoebe and Eliza

Phoebe is quite pleased with solid food. She rejected peas with some very dramatic gagging. But she likes sweet potatoes! We had success today. She also really enjoys her glass of water to wash it all down.

Jane, Jen and their daughter Eliza came over tonight for dinner. Perhaps Eliza is a very tiny little girl, or perhaps . . . well, judge for yourself. It's hard to imagine these two little girls may sit next to each other in class some day!

Some new pictures, eh!?

Grandma and Grandpa visited from Minot this weekend and so very kindly took our VW Jetta back to Minot for the year. We hardly needed two cars in D.C. Grandma told Phoebe a lot of secrets and she listened very carefully! As you can see, Phoebe is just about sitting up on her own. She enjoys her toys too! Be sure to look at the next blog entry too; you're all getting a twofer this time!

Eating!

Phoebe really likes playing with toys in her new booster seat, despite the sullen stare. But we've started trying some rice cereal as of Saturday when Grandma and Grandpa were visiting from Minot. She didn't know what to make of it at first, but did pretty well. As you can see, she clearly has her moments where she thinks it's pretty darn good stuff. Pureed squash and fruit will be interesting!

Missing Mom . . . day 4

Just one more night sleep and a nap before we get to see you! We went for a run in the stroller and went downtown today. Phoebe's out for the night and I'm trying to motivate myself to grade some quizzes from Friday. We can't wait to see you! We love you mom/Alisa!

Missing Mom . . . day 3

I'm still convinced our little girl wanted her mom last night, but she woke and has been perfectly happy with a bottle from dad today. We're at 48 hours and can't wait for mom/Alisa to come home!

We went for a walk this afternoon and I'm now waiting for her to get up from her last nap. Hopefully we'll have a good dinner together before bedtime. We love you mom/Alisa!

Missing Mom . . . day 2

Well, Phoebe's survived for more than 24hrs with me now, so I think we've traversed the first cravasse! She was mad or sad tonight before bed, which isn't out of the ordinary, but of course I attributed it to her missing mom and it made me sad.

But we enjoyed the great day outside! We went for 2 walks in the sling, a run in the stroller, and had some good laughs (shown below) under the tree in our yard. She laughed the whole time we were out there today.

~Andy (who also misses Phoebe's mom a lot!)

Missing Mom . . . day 1

After dropping mom off at the airport, we went home for a bath, a bottle, and then some night time sleeping. We're doing well, but to quote Bill from Owl Babies, "I want my mommy." We can't wait for Sunday! Good luck finding us a nice place to live in July.

Spring is Here!

Phoebe likes the outdoors, especially rides in the stroller with mom every day and the occasional run with dad. We had gorgeous weather today and she loved laying out in the grass looking at the new leaves on the trees.
