Christmas with the Geissingers

We spent Christmas at Glenn and Arlene's home with Ben, Leslie, and Abrahm. It's always great to feel so welcome there--thanks! Phoebe's Christmas outfit (the onesie from my coworker Char) was a bit snug around her belly as you can see, but we'll get some more wearings out of it. The cute stocking cap was a gift from the volunteers at Methodist Hospital; her large cranium was a bit too much for the little hat though.

Two and a half weeks old

Well, she rolled from her tummy to her back three times today. She's 17 days old going on 3 months?

Alisa stopped in to her clinic yesterday to visit her co-workers. She weighed Phoebe: she's up to 9lbs 8oz! Apparently, babies are doing well if they get back up to birth weight at their 2 week visit. She eats like a Viking and I guess it's paying off!

Cousin Abrahm visited this week. Baby Phoebe was "too loud--hard to sleep"--according to Abrahm. He also thought she was too little and couldn't play with his digger. But clearly he still loved his cousin as you can see below.

She's getting a bit fussier at bedtime and requires much soothing. It's harder on us, but a part of the gig I guess! Take care and have a wonderful Christmas everyone. We'll surely have a couple more holiday pictures to post this week.

Saturday Night Bath with Aunt Leslie

Leslie arrived today to spend some time with us. Hopefully cousin Abram and Uncle Ben will be here soon too! Saturday night was bath night. It took some serious scrubbing to get all the dried milk out of those cravasses. Did you notice Phoebe has big cheeks?

10 Days Old!

Phoebe displayed a classy gesture, showing me what she really thinks when I shove a camera in her face when all she really wants to do is eat after a 3 hour nap.

Phoebe is sleeping well. Alisa had a tough night Thursday before I went back to work Friday, but otherwise, Phoebe's been sleeping for some pretty good stretches. Last night she slept for 4.5 hours straight!

Notice the picture of her without a cap. That was in the hospital at one day old. It's crazy to think how much she grows every day!

First Bath at Home

We shampood her hair and washed her up the other night, then dressed her in grandma Rina's sleeper. Note the blurryness to the picture of her in the towel--that's her thrashing. She's resting VERY well (which means Alisa and I are resting well too!). I think I'm sleeping more than I do in a normal workweek!

Every day she does something new and it never ceases to amaze me. She's lifting her head a lot now and can roll to her side when I'm changing her. Can't wait to have all you meet Phoebe.

The Ratigan-Green family were the first to visit us. They brought curry for us and shared some lasagna. Tona took to Phoebe well as you can see.

Notice Phoebe's cheeks today versus the pics from a few days ago! She dropped to 8lb 8oz in the hospital and has already made it back to 8lbs 11oz. The nurse was pretty surprised today when she visited us for a check up!

We're doing great and actually sleeping a bit. See you all soon!

George has a new friend.

Phoebe is home

Our daughter is doing well! Phoebe Maria was born at 2:58am, Dec 4th. Phoebe weighed in at 9lbs 1oz and was 20.5" long. We came home Friday night late and have been enjoying our time at home as a family.

Alisa was amazing throughout the delievery and all of this week. I have a whole new level of respect and appreciation for all women who have delievered children and what they go through for our families; but more than all, I have a new level of love and appreciation for Alisa after this.

News?

Well, we went in to make sure baby is okay at 41 weeks and everything checked out fine. We're scheduled to go in Thursday so hopefully we'll call you with a gender, a name, and a new friend for Curious George by Friday! I'm fighting a nasty cold or a flu this weekend so I am actually grateful that Alisa didn't go into labor yesterday or even today--I would have been worthless help to her. Now I just hope she does not get this virus; that would be even worse!

and so are we. We're finally here and waiting for our chance to meet our child. Thanks for all of you who have been so caring, supportive, and giving to us.
